Possibilités d’encadrement

Le GEOCRYOLAB (laboratoire de géomorphologie et géotechnique des régions froides – http://geocryolab.ca/web) recherche des étudiants gradués intéressés à la dynamique géomorphologique des environnements nordiques. Les projets possibles incluent 1) processus de dégradation du pergélisol par thermo-érosion dans le haut-arctique; 2) l’impact de l’écoulement souterrain sur la dégradation du pergélisol discontinu; 3) la glace basale des glacier et la glace de glacier enfouie dans le pergélisol; 4) les paléoenvironnements et les paléoclimats de lîle Bylot à la charnière plio-pléistocène; 5) les yedomas du Yukon et de l’Alaska; 6) la dynamique du pergélisol sporadique alpin dans les Chic-Chocs, Gaspésie; 7) le développement de technique de mitigation visant à prévenir la dégradation du pergélisol sous les infrastructures de transport. Un support financier de $ 15,000 (M.Sc. 2 ans) et $20,000 (Ph.D. 4 ans) par année est disponible. Tous les projets comportent une composante terrain et laboratoire.
